My friend had Truecrypt installed on his laptop and accidently formatted his drive. He was able to recover the files but they show as encrypted. How could we unencrypt these recovered files? NOTE: The files are now on a different computer w/o truecrypt installed.

Tried many encryption apps after the TrueCrypt desaster a few months ago, but I always came back to TC 7.1a. It still is the non plus ultra. Now in the Yosemite Beta, the installation process already has a few hiccups and you need a workaround for it to work.
